THE NEXT GENERATION of NCOMPUTING THIN CLIENT

THE NEXT GENERATION of NCOMPUTING THIN CLIENT

On May 2018, the Next Generation thin client been introduced by Citrix and NComputing. The Citrix Ready workspace hub software been officially released at the Citrix Synergy show. However, on Novemeber 2018, Tecomsa as a strategic partner with Ncomputing had introduced the Ncomputing recent products to the Lebanese market.

The Next Generation thin client been different in three main aspects– ameliorated security, maximum user experience and extremely lower cost. To achieve those aims, Citrix and NComputing released the endpoint as an enterprise thin client & IoT Hub in one device. . The NComputing RX-HDX is not just a powerful enterprise-ready endpoint for desktop virtualization but a device that can connect with other devices and empower future workflow automation. The initial release targeted the Smartphone.

Look at how far reaching that concept is. More or less everyone working in an enterprise has a Smartphone that they hold at all times. For security, using the Smartphone to log in is more secure than the traditional username/password. It also ensures that when you leave, your session terminates. Additionally, it is better experience to advance to a thin client and have your Smartphone affirm your virtual session; no logging on, no starting up a session. Roaming your session is a better option– more secure and a better experience. You can also wirelessly connect your smartphone to cast the screen onto a bigger monitor connected to RX-HDX without any additional hardware.

The real accomplishment is that NComputing can offer this at 1/3 the cost of traditional thin clients. The RX-HDX sells for $119 as a manufacturer’s suggested retail price. That means the Next Generation thin client offers better security and a better experience at an extremely lower price. Imagine an RX-HDX taking the place of a traditional thin client, docking station plus a VoIP Phone. This can lead to an even greater saving. This is done by constructing the RX-HDX on a Raspberry Pi3 which is based on a 64-bit ARM chip and has amalgamated WiFi and Bluetooth. ARM processors offer incomparable price/performance and thus the decrease in the price of the Next Generation RX-HDX.

Additionally, NComputing and Citrix have collaborated to produce a complete solution for the enterprise. The RX-HDX offers enterprise-ready thin client features such as:

  • Optimization for XenApp and XenDesktop
  • Innovative dual display with HD video support
  • HDX RTME optimization for Skype for Business
  • 3D workload support for graphic-intensive applications
  • Imprivata and Caradigm support for healthcare
  • Tamper resistant case for greater security
  • Rugged design for commercial and industrial environments
  • Integrated Enterprise-Grade central device management
